Hi Lynn,

Sorry for taking so long to get back to you about your bug report.
I only heard about it recently, not back in December when you first
sent it.

I've tried replicating the bug but I haven't had any luck as yet.
As a result I'm inclined to think that one of the following is
the case:

1. there is either something about the particular workstation you were
   using that caused this.

2. there is something in how your own personal environment is configured
   that is a complicating factor.

3. there is some step that you use that I'm not using when I try to
   duplicate the bug.

If you are still experiencing this bug, then if you have time could you
please try the following:

A. Try using your account on the Athena DECstation where you first
encountered the bug. See if you can make the bug happen again. If you
can, then something is till going on and we can proceed to check
it out; proceed to step B below. If you can't make the bug happen,
then all we can do is chalk this up to a random event. Make sure that
you try more than one worksheet, so that we know that this is a generic
Maple problem, not just a case of one particular worksheet file being
   corrupted.

B. Try using your account, logging in however you do normally, on some
other Athena DECstation than the one you used when you experienced
the bug. See if you can make the bug happen. If you can, then we've
eliminated case (1); otherwise, the problem may not be a Maple bug,
the Maple bug may be a side-effect of some other problem with the
   workstation you first used.

C. Try logging in **without customizations** on some other Athena DECstation
than the one you used when you first experienced the bug. See if you can
make the bug happen. If you can, then you've shown case (2) to be
somewhat unlikely. If you can't, then you may have something in one
of your dotfiles that is causing the problem with Maple.

D. If you get this far, then we need to figure out exactly what you do
to make the bug happen, so that I can repeat your steps exactly. The
best way to do this is:
   - prepare a small worksheet and test to verify the bug is still there
   - email me the worksheet. Worksheets are text, so you don't have to
do anything special to send it to me.
   - email an EXACT keystroke-by-keystroke and mouse-click by mouse-click
instruction of exactly what you did to make the bug appear.
   - tell me what other programs you had running at the *same* time.
   - tell me EXACTLY how you start maple, ie: from dash, or if from
some locker, tell me exactly what attach or add command you used, etc.

Thanks

	Reid M. Pinchback
