What were you trying to do?
Uncompress a large postscript file acquired via ftp from
a research group in France.
What's wrong:
The quota system is *broken*! I had to wait several minutes for this
compressed file to ftp to my athena account. I then ran uncompress
and received a warning that the uncompressed file could not be stored
because I was over quota. But the original file had already been
deleted! This is *seriously* wrong behavior. Either the quota system
should allow for *temporary* over-limits (like, until you log out)
or uncompress's behavior needs to be modified to work in this
constrained environment. It is *ridiculous* that I now have to
ftp to the site in France again to recover the original file.
What should have happened:
See above.

Thanks for reading this. I know this isn't a "bug" in the precise
sense of that word, but some policy here should be changed.
