I'm sorry, but our normal mechanism for fixing bugs in one software
release is to provide a new release that contains the fixes, not to
fix machines running an older release than the one we consider our
current one; I don't know why there are still machines running version
5.5T, but the "fix" for these machines would be to update them to
version 6.0. If you have software that must run on both versions, I
would suggest using something like the following for your C-shell
scripts:
if ( $?hosttype == 0 ) then
set hosttype=`/bin/athena/machtype`
endif
This will set the shell variable "hosttype" to the correct value if it
is not already set.
If the machines running 5.5T are workstations provided by Athena,
please talk to the folks at "hotline" to see about updating them.
