What were you trying to do?

  Keep users from confusing `add' and `attach'.

What went wrong?

    ; get_message
    New Athena Public Cluster: An additional Athena cluster is opening
    Monday Jan 30th at 1:00pm in 2-032. Available for use will
    be (16) SparcStation 5 workstations and a postscript printer.

    SECURITY ALERT: recently many accounts on MITnet have been compromised
    by "packet sniffers." Protect yourself and MITnet, take precautions!
    Change your password frequently, use telnet -safe. For more
    information, type:

            add info;
            more /mit/info/security_alert

    E-mail questions or comments to <net-security@mit.edu>

    ; ls /mit/info/{*bin,man}
    ls: No match.

What should have happened?

  s/add/attach/p

Anything else you'd like to add?

  The global MOTD shouldn't encourage confusion in users (and it
  shouldn't waste the cycles and network bandwidth doing the useless
  `add' stuff anyway).
