Stupid me. I use the emacs discuss script to view bugs messages. Using this
discuss viewer, go to transaction 12628 and you'll see where I reported this
same bug in September and I go into a little more detail. The fact that the
Motif libraries have not been updated forces me keep my own version of the
libraries (for each platform) on my own development account. The application
I am responsible for triggers two of the bugs fixed by the patch.

Because minor version number revisions are bug fixes and bugs are bad. In the
case of the bug fix that I am concerned with, the fix has already been applied
to the source code. All that is required to update the libraries is to rerun
the makefile (at least that's how I do it). This should really not require
much resources.
Updating the source code is highly automated as well (depending upon how
standard your directory tree is). The OSF tries to make bug fixes as painless
as possible. If you don't have the resources to update the source code, how
about providing access to the OSF supplied fix so that I can update a copy of
the source and thereby update my libraries. That should take very little
resources.
As for the possible upgrade to Motif v2.0, if you would like of brief summary
of some the exciting new opportunities this library allows the developer, let
me know.
