If you login twice to a workstation. (i.e. two times onto dialup, or
through a remote terminal hooked up to a workstation) and then logout
from the first login, your entry is removed from /etc/passwd eventhough
you are still on the machine from the other terminal.
If however, you logout from the second login session first, your entry
remains in /etc/passwd.
This can have some nasty results as you are not known by the machine. su
returns a message "Who are you?" and Mark Eichin is sending in a report
about co problems.
