What were you trying to do?
Use the PostScript font setup for a LaTeX article.
Specifically, I was trying to get $\epsilon = \alpha\Delta T$
to work.
What's wrong:
The $\Delta$ disappeared when I used ncs.sty but not when I
used times.sty.
pncr.{tfm,vf}, pplr.{tfm,vf}, etc. do not map the appropriate
characters positions to capital Greek letters from the Symbol
font. ptmr.{tfm,vf} do not have this problem.
What should have happened:
These font files should encode mappings for the greek
characters, and the $\Delta$ should have displayed.
