A client has installed LAN WP 4.2 Beta on his computer. However, it didn't
recognize the contents of the NET.CFG from 4.1 and transfer the IP address
directly to the new LAN WP 4.2 NET.CFG. Is this supposed to be automatic?
Another complaint was that the old icons and groups from 4.1 were not removed
during the installation of 4.2 Beta over 4.1. Rather, duplicate icons were
created for 4.2 and it was hard to distinguish between which icon pointed to
the old and the new beta programs.
Apparently another problem resides in the default keyboard mapping of the Host
Presenter 4.2. The backspace, delete, and arrow keys are not correctly mapped
by default. What should they be mapped to? (i.e. what are the hex codes?)
Lastly, when more than 8 TCP or UDP connections are established (8 is the
default set in the installation program), Windows generates General Protection
Faults (GPF) when accessing WINSOCK.DLL and hangs the computer. Should there
perhaps be a strong warning to the user letting him/her know of this potential
problem?
Overall, the client was very pleased with the bugfixes (especially in
Techmail) and the new package of programs. However, he is interested in a
Internet Relay Chat (IRC) client program for Windows.
