I had a problem with techmail (windows) on 10/27/94. I was not able to get
mail or to show my old mail to me. After not fixing the problem with the
rcc I talked to the Helpline and they send me to the Network Services Help
Desk. After explaining the problem he said that he would get someone to
help me. I interpretated it this way that somebody else would call me a bit
later. But nothing happened during the next two hours. So I started
playing around with the system and made it working again by renaming the
inbox.mdf, removing a responding file from the temporary directory and
letting the program create an new inbox. Therefore my old e-mails
in the old inbox file are not accessible by techmail (only by editor). I am
optimistic but not shure that no file is lost. The questions now are: Why
did this all happen? Is really no file lost?
After some time the same problem occurred again after tryingto GET MAIL (in
the MAIL Menu) the techmail didn't respond anymore. The status line (I mean
the Text at the window bottom) said:"Sending Keberos Ticket to POP server"

The problem is that I will not be reachable during the next week. To get rid
of all problems I mailed to all persons I know to ensure that no file got
lost.

To prevent any unequivalent action referring to my problem: I do not need
any urgent help anymore because I can restart the system again myself. It
would be great if you could help me to prevent future occurence of the
problem.
