What went wrong?
Suns can't start xdm/xlogin when they don't have system packs
attached. Which means that once they try to restart them during a
reactivate when the packs can't be attached, they'll fall into console
mode. Once this happens one has to log in and attach packs by hand to
restore functionality, because workstations don't reactivate when they
are in console mode.
What should have happened?
Suns should be able to start xdm/xlogin even if it doesn't
have system packs attached.
Yo, got any documentation, or other info?
in this case the DECstation runs xlogin, but givs a failled to
activate message when it doesn't have packs. However it will
automatically re-attach them, when they come back.
