Actually, the invocation should be using the "-xdev" option, which
tells it not to go off the disk partition, so mounted file systems and
the local /site won't get searched.  At least, that's the theory.  We
have in the past had lots of problems with file servers around that
hour before this was fixed, and haven't lately, so the theory does
seem to be working.  (The network load wasn't the problem, the file
servers aren't that quick.  They would become inaccessible for maybe
20 minutes.)
