I happened across someone (klmitch) in the cluster whose xterm was
displaying
"pid 5137 (emacs) was killed on a kernel access at pc 0x430144"
at a million miles an hour. :) I kill -9'd the emacs...
He was on w20-575-43, a maxine.
Anyway, when he started emacs via "emacs <filename>", it would be
fine until he tried to save the file, then do this. Sometimes it
wrote the file first, sometimes not. If emacs was just started up (no
file specified) it would spew immediately upon typing C-x C-f.
This was quite repeatable. When he logged on another machine, he did
not have the problem, nor did I when I logged onto w20-575-43.
I didn't really know what else to look for...
