Well, toxicwaste, which was running a 7.6 layered athena release
decided it wanted to autoupdate today. Well, it didn't work! In the
process of destroying itself (it destroyed its srvtab as well as many
other things!) I was finally able to break into it (since the root
shell no longer existed) and re-install with layered_athena 7.7

FYI: toxicwaste is a DEC 5000/200 running Ultrix 4.3. It is running:
an AFS server:	I had to restart that).
a Kerberos server: /usr/athena/etc/k* were not in place, and
no symlinks were existant!
A mail server (I had to re-hack my sendmail.cf which was
destroyed).
a login server (I have to replace the srvtab, still!)

and probably some other things which I can't remember right
now!

Another bug: /etc/athena/shutdown_notify did not exist -- I had to
link it myself.

Anyways, I manually changed the autoupdate to 0 in the config file, so
hopefully this wont happen again... I'm a little miffed about this,
since I remember explicity telling it _NOT_ to autoupdate! I guess
that I am now a beta-tester of 7.7 layered_athena, whether I want to
or not. Sigh.

Thanks!

PS: hopefully this will help in the case of other people having
similar problems in the future..
