This bug has been seen on the RT and I have suspected that it would happen
on the VAX as well for a while. Don has recently tracked down the exact
location in sys/vm_text.c that was not calling FREE_AT_HEAD(xp), which is
the reason that it was also suspected that it may occur on the VAX (vm_text.c
is almost identical on both architectures).
