What's wrong:
Move your mouse cursor into the upper left corner of your workstation
screen, assuming that your login window's upper left corner is just
touching the workstation's upper left corner.
Now, click whatever sequence of clicks you have bound to resize
window, and move the mouse however many pixels is enough for your uwm
to think you're moving it. You will note that the upper left corner
of the login window jumps several characters in from the left side of
the screen and one line down from the top of the screen.
Now, without letting go of the mouse button, try to resize the window
back to where it was originally. You can't.
The problem is that the mouse cursor can't move far enough left or up
to put the corner back in the corner. This problem only occurs on the
top and left sides of the screen, not on the right and bottom. It
looks like what is happening is the X server is allowing you to move
the mouse until the hotspot is touching the edge of the screen when
you move it to the bottom or right side of the screen, but it doesn't
allow the mouse to go off the screen at all when moving to the top or
the left.
What should have happened:
You could be able to move the hot spot to the edge of the screen on
all four sides of the screen.
