What were you trying to do?
Use cp -p to preserve various file properties while copying
into AFS.
What's wrong:
It doesn't preserve owner. I checked this on Sun and DECstation,
and I checked in the athena and rel-eng cells.
What should have happened:
cp -p probably ought to preserve owner. I nearly ended up with
a setuid cfields.root attach binary on the packs.
cp -p preserves owner on local disk for both Sun and DECstation.
