When sorokin reported it [7/11, testers 2585], I just generated a
workaround, because there were a number of reasons not to revert the
behavior back to the way it was, and not many reasons to change it.
However, later mhpower pointed out, with respect to the gecos
information,

which led me to consider the change more seriously. So, due to this
point, the fact that it may be tricky to solve by user education since
only mh does this thing, and the fact the functionality is broken on
the Sun, and a couple of other things, we will be changing the mh-6.8
we provide to behave as the old 6.6 did with respect to the password
file info. Due to random annoying technical and timing issues, this
change will not go out with the first version of release 7.7, but
probably in the first patch release two to three weeks later.
(mhpower's report came in the day after 7.7's code freeze.)
In the meantime, that workaround once again (assuming you want a null
sig):
