What's wrong:
when I advance to the next page too quickly (by clicking on
the `next page' command many times in a short amount of time, the
viewing program crashes and the x window disappears.... the same thing
sometimes happens when I have an x view window on screen and I rerun
my latex program. If in rerunning the program my document now has more
pages then if I try to view the extra pages the x view window will
sometimes crash and disappear as well.
What should have happened:
x window shouldn't disappear

none. I think that this is athena specific.
