one of the remedies (when you know the zephyr servers are hosed) is to
RTFM to determine which option turns off zephyr subscription activity
in attach and detach so you don't get the long waits ...
i did forward your item to the zephyr person. maybe there's more to
it than my description above ...
for the record, that option is "-h" for both attach and detach.
