Hello,
I've been looking at your bug report. When you say you're "running an f77
program in the background" I assume you mean a binary created from a FORTRAN
source program? This situation is common when you run large, CPU intensive
programs on a workstation. If the load gets very high the Xserver cannot
respond to keystrokes and gets further and further behind. If you try
running in the same way but without the background process, and the problem
goes away, then the cause I mentioned is almost certainly correct, and
nothing can be done about it; if not, then the problem must be elsewhere.
Please let me know which is the case so I can complete this report. Thanks.
