What do you think is wrong:

using any of rsh, rlogin, or rlogin -x to a solaris (7.6R) machine
results in the timezone being GMT and the TZ variable not being set.
I've observed this on inf, tow, and dt (classic, classic, and IPX,
respectively). Telnetd doesn't display this problem.

When did this happen?

It didn't happen on inf the day before it took 7.6R. It happened on
inf the day after it took 7.6R. Talking to Craig about it, I
  couldn't verify that I hadn't been running a non-release klogind
before 7.6R. In any case, it's definately not right now.

Any other related weirdness?

  Yeah, look at this:

; rsh inf -l root date
    Fri Apr 15 13:45:07 EDT 1994

    ; rsh inf date
    Fri Apr 15 17:45:17 GMT 1994

; rsh dt -l root date
    Fri Apr 15 13:46:58 EDT 1994

    ; rsh dt date
    Fri Apr 15 17:46:44 GMT 1994

Anything else?

Yeah. I'm confused about this last part a lot.
