xtechinfo problems

I can't get xtechinfo to work from my workstation (mandela-1) anymore. The
non-X version still seems to work fine, but xtechinfo just sits there without
producing a window. I bring up xtechinfo along with several other
applications from my .startup.X file and first noticed this problem when I
failed to get my expected xtechinfo icon this past Friday. Please fix this,
or let me know what I'm doing wrong.
