Hi,
I seem to recall that it happened on spark stations as well, but not
nearly so often. I believe it is a problem with trying to load the
image into memory, if there were a way of only importing one plane of
the xwd into frame it may be very helpful, but I haven't figured out
how to do this yet. Incidentally, it would be very useful if frame
allowed reference to compressed images, analogous to:
" zcat myxwd.Z | xwud "
some of my xwd files are compressable to 10% of original size!
Since we are on the subject of importing images into frame,
there is also a problem with imported Mathematica images.
The graphics are very large relative to what is printed, that is
they are certainly NOT "what you see is what you get"!
