What were you trying to do?
a) Forward mail a user sent directly back into the netprob system
b) send in a bug report as root and have it be attributed to me
What's wrong:
In both cases I inserted a From: line with my username
a) The forwarded mail was listed as comming from me
b) The bug report is listed as from root
What should have happened:
a) mail should have showed up as from the user
b) I should have done a more complete job of forging mail as myself
Please describe any relevant documentation references:
Here's the header from b):

I'm not sure where netprob got the "root" from. It might have been the
1st line in the header, it might have been the envelope, it might have
been the sender line, it might have been thin air.
