You recently reported a problem with global variables in Matlab. I refer
you to the warning message printed when Matlab starts up. It in part
says:
There are significant differences and incompatibilities between
this version of Matlab and earlier versions.
Global variable behavior is one of those differences. Please see page
10 of "Matlab New Features Guide" for an explanation of the change in
global variables for version 4. You can print out your own copy
of this document (highly recommended) with:
attach matlab
zcat /mit/matlab/doc/Maltab4.1/newfeatures.ps.Z | lpr -Pprinter_name
The new features guide includes a 4-5 page section on differences between
old and new versions of Matlab.
