Type and version:	SPARC/Classic 7.6Q (12 update(s) to same version)
Display type: cgthree

What were you trying to do?
figure out why sendmail8 wasn't sending out syslogs when it
	delivered mail.

What's wrong:
well, from everything I could see it was sending them.
However, I did notice from the sendmail8 I have running on
my DECstation that the delivery syslogs were very long.
By playing with logger I discovered that it messages that
were more that 140-150 characters long would just disappear.

What sould NOT have happened:
syslogd should NOT have failed silently

What should have happened:
syslogd (I'm assuming this is where the problem is, but
it seems logical) should deliver all syslog messages,
regardless of length (splitting them if necessary.)

Please describe any relevant documentation references:
	man syslogd

Yet another reason to build our syslogd (besides the fact that it
understands zephyr.
