System name: bad-loud-music
Type and version:	SPARC/IPX 7.6Q
Display type: cgthree

What were you trying to do?
Send mail, using GNU emacs M-x sendmail.

What's wrong:
	bad-loud-music was freshly installed:

>installed on Fri Dec 17 17:24:12 EST 1993
>Athena Workstation (sun4) Version 7.6Q Mon Nov 15 08:23:51 1993

... and /etc/mail/sendmail.cf was not installed. (This is
despite the fact that NEWMAILCF is set to true in /etc/athena/rc.conf)
Because of this, mail sent using M-x sendmail (C-x m) was being
silently discarded.

I (tytso) fixed it by su'ing to root and copying
/srvd/etc/mail/sendmail.cf to /etc/mail/sendmail.cf and then doing a
/usr/lib/sendmail -bz.

What should have happened:
The installation/boot process should have installed
sendmail.cf.

GNU email sendmail.el shouldn't silently discard messages when
sendmail isn't set up correctly. (One possible way of fixing this:
setting mail-interactive to t; this will make it slower to send mail
messages, but errors will get reflected to the user.)
