Greg,
Here is the resolution of your bug report about the Green Hills C
compiler; as you suspected, there is an extra compiler switch that
must be set to get ANSI compatibility; ghcc -ansi test.c works fine
on your test file (the default is K&R). In fairness to the vendor, I'd
like to mention a couple of things: first, Green Hills donated the
entire compiler suite and Multi to MIT free of charge (with some conditions
as explained in the README) and second, the manual (which I have the only
copy of) documents all of the variant compiler switches. You are welcome
to look this over in my office (E40-398) (x3-8613) and I can let you copy
limited parts of it. I should (and will) document the fact that there are
non-UNIX-standard compiler switches in the README.athena.
I hope this helps; you may not want to use a compiler with non-standard
switches but that is another issue.
Cheers,
Alex T. Prengel, Jr.
