detach detached the wrong filesystem

Please describe the problem in detail (mention any necessary files or
commands that may be involved, on which machine the bug happened, and what
the program did that was wrong):
on a VS2000, detach detached a filesystem that was not specified
on the command line. Sample:
m11-115-4 /mit/2.672/steam % detach 2.672 qin 1.00 kgbusaa
2.672: Unable to unmount /mit/2.672: Device busy
2.40: detached
1.00: detached
kgbusaa: detached
2.40 got detached, even though I didn't have it on the command
line. "qin" did not get detached.

I cannot replicate this behavior, sorry. I tried several
combinations, but cannot.
