The xman in the x11r5 locker works correctly in the case you mentioned.
Additionally, Solaris 2.3 is reputed to have a more up-to-date patchlevel
of X so that when we move to it the problem will hopefully go away. I will
put this bug in some appropriate wait state and check on that when we
get 2.3.
