A while back you reported a bug where you clicked the logout button
before you were completely logged in, which resulted in some of your
processes continuing to run after the new login screen appeared.
This is one of those, "Gee, I never thought a user would try that"
bugs. It is possible to fix it, and we know how (by not having the
logout button appear until the last step of logging in). However,
this would slow down logging in all of the time for all users, and
would increase the possibility of certain things going wrong.
We do not plan on fixing this bug at this time. In the future if this
happens to you, the fastest way to fix this is to select "Shutdown
Window System" from the "Other Options" menu on the login screen when
it reappears. This will force the rest of your applications to exit,
and display a different kind of login screen. This screen will reset
itself after 2 minutes, or you can type control-D to go back to the
regular Athena login screen.
