This could theoretically be cause by the PCLU program at the time set
up to have a pclu process in the background, with a front-end program
PCLU to give it commands, sort of like emacsclient... I wonder if
this could have caused the symptoms there? it's possible that the .c
file you were seeing was an intermediate file for the clu compiler.
