System name: binkley
Type and version:	CVAXSTAR 7.6E (3 update(s) to same version)
Display type: SM

What were you trying to do?
	emacs 1/00/PS3/foobar.c &

What's wrong:
When I call up an emacs window with a file already loaded, I
frequently don't see the file. It's there, the cursor moves around when
I move around the file, and if I type a character on a line that line
will appear. The only way I've been able to get the whole file visible
is to do C-x C-k (the text appears in the emacs window, I cancel the
kill command, and life is peachy.)

What should have happened:
I should be able to see the text of my file. This doesn't seem
like a lot to ask for in a text editor.
