What were you trying to do?
I was trying to check the spelling of one word using the command
M-x ispell-word on emacs.
What's wrong:
After a while I got a bip and the message "timeout for spell checking".
There was nothing about the correct spell, or possible options
What should have happened:
I should have got a box on top of my emacs window asking me about
the correct spelling, or else a message at the window botton saying
that the spelling was indeed correct.

This problem seems to be common to half of the IBM/6000 here in
the basement of building 4 (room 4-035). In some machines never
spell checking never works inside emacs, in other it does.
