What's wrong:
On page 3 and on many subsequent pages, there is a messy black
line in the middle of the page. It's not clear by looking
at it that it is necessarily a pageview bug. It might be
an X server problem.
What should have happened:
It shouldn't do that; ghostview/gs don't do this (they have
other problems, though) and the defect does not appear in
the hardcopy.
