What were you trying to do?
LaTeX and print file with 12pt option.
What's wrong:
Prints in about 5 pt with 12pt spacing.
Error messages frpom dvi2ps:
Athena (~/guild) -->prdvi rushapp
[/usr/athena/lib/tex/ps/dvi.ps]Substituted font cmbx10 at mag 2487 for cmbx10 at mag 2880.
Substituted font cmbx12 at mag 1727 for cmbx12 at mag 2000.
Substituted font cmti12 at mag 1440 for cmti12 at mag 2000.
Substituted font cmr12 at mag 1000 for cmr12 at mag 2000.
Error messages from dvips (which I tried next):
This is dvips 5.495 Copyright 1986, 1992 Radical Eye Software
' TeX output 1993.08.30:1720' -> !lpr
Couldn't find font cmbx10 at 864dpi.

dvips: Font cmbx10.746pk at 864 not found; scaling 746 instead.
dvips: Such scaling will generate extremely poor output.
(At this point I stopped... at least it admitted it couldn't do it!)
What should have happened:
Should have printed with 12 pt.
