DESTINATION: hotline@sun.com
SEVERITY CODE: 3
PRODUCT RELEASE: 2.1
OS RELEASE: 2.1
SYNOPSIS: more -c garbles text following long lines.
DETAILED DESCRIPTION:
If you use the -c option to the 'more' program to view a file with lines
longer than your xterm window is wide, the text following the line wrap
will be garbled.
This failure occurs under OpenWindows 3.1, OpenWindows 3.2, and remotely
logged in from DecStations.
We believe it is a bug in more, rather than a bug in Xterm.

This is in response to Service Order 1370319 opened with Sun Microsystems via
hotline@sun.com.
Regarding: 'more -c' garbles text following long lines
You are correct in that this is a bug with the more command and not Xterm.
I have found numerous bugs filed against it. It is stated to have been fixed
in Solaris 2.2 and my testing verifies that. There is no indication given
from engineering that a patch will be issued for this. An upgrade to Sol2.2
is the solution at this time.
Thank you for using hotline@sun.com.
