this is minor, but forw is dumb about things when
there is more than one process manipulating drafts:
% forw 988
Draft "/mit/geer/Mail/draft" exists (0 bytes).
Disposition? l
/mit/geer/Mail/draft: No such file or directory
Disposition? rep
i had two forw's in operation, #1 started, then #2.

between the time #2 tested for a draft and the time
i got around to answering the "Disposition?" question.
nonetheless, #2 insists on the disposition of a
nonexistent file.
