What were you trying to do?
Use discuss in emacs.
What's wrong:
I attempted to send a transaction to a meeting. When I hit C-c
C-c to try to send the transaction, it said "Sending..." but took a
very long time to do anything else. After a while I hit C-x b, which
returned me to the meeting I'd been in (with no indication that the
transaction I'd sent had been sent, then q to get back to the
*meetings* buffer.
Before the menu came up, I accidentally killed my
windowmanager (twm) when I tried to click away a zephyr. When I
re-started twm from an xterm, emacs froze with a blank screen and
"Waiting for discuss" with a few missing characters (don't remember
which ones) on the bottom line, and something flashing in the top of
the screen. It remained like this for about a minute before coming up
with the normal meetings screen.
Killing and restarting twm again without having sent a message
did not reproduce the problem... however, now trying to go to any
meeting beeps with "Connection timed out," (after less than a second)
and I don't get to the meeting. Quitting discuss and restarting it
fixed this.
I don't know if this is an emacs bug, a discuss bug, or
something else, or just a random fluke.
