What were you trying to do?
Use the resources CursorColor, PointerColor, and iconUseBitmap
to set my preferences for using the emacs program. The relevant lines
in my ~/.Xresources are:
emacs*Background: darkgreen
emacs*Foreground: white
emacs*CursorColor: yellow
emacs*PointerColor: yellow
emacs*iconUseBitmap: on
What's wrong:
These properties still had their default values when I ran emacs --
the cursor color and the pointer color were the same as the text color, and
the icon was the normal one. The first two lines did work correctly.
What should have happened:
The cursor color should have turned to yellow, the pointer color
should have been yellow within the emacs window, and the icon for the program
should have been the so-called "kitchen sink" icon.
