System name: tailgunner
Type and version:	KN01 7.4H
Display type: PMAX-MFB

Ignore the system stuff; I'm on a different machine. This was done on
bombardier, mentioned in the last bug report I sent.

What were you trying to do?
log in, but with an incorrect username or password

What's wrong:
Rather than pop up the window with the appropriate error, some kind
of error appears in the console window, which then disappears too
quickly to read. The screen goes black, and evidently the X server
and xlogin both die and restart themselves. The process kills about
	60-90 seconds.

What should have happened:
It should have given the traditional "Incorrect password" or
"Username not recognized by kerberos" errors, or whatever they are.

Please describe any relevant documentation references:
	probably xlogin man pages/sources
and certainly whatever manuals came with these dinky toys
