Could you forward this question to the proper person?
We have turned access on on some of the machines in the interactive
classroom so that students using the prototype lab can rlogin to other
machines to reduce the load on the machine in the prototype lab. (There
are 8 terminals connected to the prototype lab machine via serial ports)
(the access_on is implemented on our machines by doing /usr/athena/access_on
in the /etc/athena/activate.local and /etc/athena/deactivate.local files)
The problem is that rlogins are still not working. When a user tries to
do an rlogin, he gets a message such as:
rlogin:Kerberos rcmd failed: Principal unknown (kerberos).
trying normal rlogin (/usr/ucb/rlogin.ucb)
IC3-462-12.MIT.EDU: Address already in use
or it will try the "normal rlogin" but then prevents login because it won't
recognize the password and login (even if you type the correct password
for the login name)
I don't want to burden you with all of the questions I have, but I'm still
not sure exactly whom to contact for which problems. I appreciate your
help in pointing me in the right directions. I would appreciate it if you
would give me a list of which athena personal are in charge of which areas.
