This was reported to me last night around midnight by Matt Braun.
Apparently, if you try a root login with the new xlogin, it will first
pop up a dialog box saying that it could not get full authentication and
ask if you want to proceed. This should not happen with root.
I have reproduced this on the VS3100 in the test cluster...
