The DECstation inetd dumps core with a bus error when too many finger
requests are sent in a short time ("too many" appears to mean "enough
to cause inetd to disable the service").
A core dump is /mit/jfc/core.inetd.decstation.
I have a program which will generate a large number of finger requests;
contact me if you need it for testing.
