My opinion has been that it doesn't appear to be a very visible
problem (real people tend not to take files from /usr/spool/mail and
send them around)
I don't know how you define "real people," but the reason I noticed
this problem in the first place is that people forward me mail
messages relatively frequently, and they often do so by including the
entire text of the message, including the "From " line at the top, in
the body of their message to me.
Furthermore, some automatic mail bouncers (most notably the ones in
the ex-Soviet Union, apparently) include a "From " line when they
bounce messages due to failed delivery.
Therefore, I have had a large number of instances of messages broken
up that should not have been since I switched my incoming mail from
pit-manager (in anticipation of it going away) to the mailhub.
