Folks,
I realize troff is considered somewhat obsolete, but many of
us have large and important old files that are in troff and that
we desperately need to be able to print out without going through
the trouble of translating them to latex.
Currently, when one runs troff on athena, it complains about
some missing files. Would it be possible to restore these files
so that troff can be used again?
I do not know what sort of backlog you have, nor what priority
you would assign to this task if you decided that it should be
done, but from my very limited vantage point, this is very urgent
and very important.
BTW, I am on the research staff. I am doing some work with
Prof. Sanjoy Mitter, who has an athena account. I don't -- yet.
