The "sendbug" program, and/or the "bugs" mailing list, is not really
the correct place to which to direct complaints about abuses of
Athena's resources. Messages sent to "bugs" are not processed in
real-time, which means that by the time someone gets to them, the
abuse has probably long since stopped. Furthermore, the people who
process bug reports do not have the authority to deal with users who
are abusing the system.
The correct way to report what you think is an abuse of Athena is to
talk to the Athena user consultants, by using "olc", calling x3-4435
or stopping by 11-115.
In any case, it is not clear to me that what you experienced is such
an abuse. Athena has print quotas so that people do not waste
printing resources; the user in question has to pay for printouts
about his quota, just as anyone else does; within that quota, he has
the right to print whatever he wants. Granted, it would be rude of
him to hog the single printer in a cluster, but the w20-575 cluster
has a number of different printers in it, so if he was using one,
there is no reason why you could not have printed to another.
