athena 9.1 contains perl version 5.6.1, and the version compiled as
owl-beta for solaris contains perl version 5.6.0. This works just
fine until you try to load any external library normally in perl fron
owl. For instance even a command as basic as "use lib foo" will
break. Now it would seem the real solution is to have the ktools
locker keep separate binary versions, or to desupport 9.0.
There is a workaround though since the version in the perl 5 locker
happens to also be 5.6.0 you can do this:
tcsh% attach perl5
tcsh% setenv PERLLIB `/mit/perl5/perl -e 'print join ":",@INC'`
