This is bug 1167154. It's fixed in kernel patch 101318, the most recent
version of which is -69, released on 1 February 95.
The fix was integrated into 2.4, as well as the os version currently
under development.

I tried this on a Solaris 2.3 machine, and didn't get any errors.
uname -a on this machine returns:
SunOS coke 5.3 Generic_Patch sun4m sparc
