Nope, not pointless, it allows me to click an URL in Emacs and Netscape will
load it for me.  (Much like any half decent windowing system should.)

However, the '-remote' stuff is simply a way around the grossly brain-dead,
monolithic, resource sucking piece of shit we call X.  If X could have
different apps communicate properly, netscape wouldn't have to do the
'-remote' stuff.

I'll be first in line to bitch at/about Netscape, but this really isn't
their fault.
